What’s up with 44net email?

I have a 44net email address but I can’t access it. The IP address for the mail server is not going anywhere. Apparently, it is no longer being routed.

I guess I didn’t quite realize that the 44net email address I signed up for was not an official ARDC offering but rather the work of a single human. Email systems are notoriously fickle so I think I probably would not have signed up had I realized it all depended on one person.

(However, I respect someone gutsy enough to stand up an email server for the amateur radio community. Running an email system is probably the last thing I would do. I’ve run such systems before and in my experience, managing the email server and everything that comes with it took as much of my IT time as everything else rolled together.)

I’m sure I’ll learn more in the very near future. It’s just surprising to discover my 44net email account is inaccessible. Fingers crossed that this resolves soon.
